Tutor.com provides free scheduled or immediate online homework and writing sessions with tutors familiar with state curriculum and standards available by laptop, tablet, or phone. Live one-on-one tutor's can help with all K-12 subjects. Includes a Writing Lab, career aptitude exploration, self-study skills improvement, and college and career test preparation. Most features of Tutor.com will require you to set up a personal account during your first visit.
OverDrive's Digital Collection for Kids allows parents to find eBook titles children will love. Browse by subject, reading level, or popularity. If you need help getting started, Overdrive has instructions on their Help Page.
eBook subscription database (over 12,000 titles) to support multiple subject areas (English Language Arts, Science, Math, Social Studies, Health, Physical Education, Information Literacy, and Technology). If you need help getting started, ProQuest has instruction videos (Grades 9+). The first time you access this eBook collection you must do it at the library and establish a personal login. Thereafter you can use your personal login to access the eBooks remotely from anywhere.
Encyclopedia Britannica has been a trusted resource for students and researchers for 250 years. The online Britannica School edition is constantly updated and has easier-to-read entries for elementary and middle school students as well as explainer videos.
CultureGrams provides concise cultural information on countries around the world (Grades 3-12).
Discoverer is a research tool for younger grades that provides selected content for novice researchers, especially elementary and middle school students and educators (Grades 3-9).
TeachingBooks.net is a resource for students to learn about books and authors frequently read in schools. Watch videos of the authors talking about their writing and reading from their own books. (Grades K+)
National Geographic for Kids is well known for making big topics accessible to elementary age students. This archive of the magazine and eBooks brings nature, history, and world cultures to students. (Grades K+)
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is an early literacy program that encourages families and caregivers to read at least 1,000 books with their young children to prepare them with the skills they need for kindergarten. Each 100 books read receives a progress badge. At 1,000 books, kids receive a free book and certificate of completion.
